The truth session

Sunday's first session is catching the squad out. Boats are set off staggered based on their result from the day before. They should then all finish together. At present, they don't. Why is this?
It may be rate 18-20 but it's still a race, it may be longer than any head race, but it's still a race. This is the challenge. It is physical, it is technical and it is above all mental. Ultimately there must be drive and determination from stroke one to the last, the focus must be constant and if another boat advances on you it must be held off, on rate, with every mean's possible. As present there is little of this, when this is happening across the squad we will be in a very good place.
Sunday afternoon was beginner men time. A second or perhaps third time on the water, good progress made and most impressively a silent, listening boat. It is motivating to coach motivated people.
