It's a Bank Holiday so instead of a pre-lecture ergo the squad got out for 16k on a flat Sunny lake. The lack of confidence at the front end is an issue across the squad so all outings will now start from the front end and the key drill is building the stroke from legs only through to the complete stroke. Some good improvements were made by the two scullers I spent some time with- both moving away from starting the drive with the body and legs and moving towards starting the strokes with the legs- when they got it their boats took off and due to then having a longer drive, were propelled for longer- very encouraging. One of the pairs took out the Gopro which captured plenty of evidence. Some of which is public below:
As can be seen, there is scope for more confidence at the front end which will give more length and connection at the point of direction change.
