This tiny moment of recognition is very significant- being an amazing rower is not something to be dismissed- indeed it is Olympic champions that inspire us, but neither should we dismiss those that balance a commitment to our sport with a diverse range of commitments that ultimately will support them far further than simply putting an oar in water.
