Managed to coach a couple of novice crews on the water this afternoon. It was very promising to see the boat being pushed along. The technical sessions mid-week on the erg are having an impact. Very important not to allow crews to get into pulling from backstops (sitting like a bag of spuds) but get them to be bold and sit out at frontstops, strong and ready to push on the foot-stretcher. If they get this right, and this happened a few times this afternoon, the rest of the stroke takes care of itself.
