Outside of the training zone today has seen another little landmark for the club with UCCRC being entered into the Head of the River 4's race in London on November 30th. UCCRC will be racing a men's quad over the 6.8km course. It is the College's first chance to gauge themselves against crews from all over the UK and possibly further afield. It is an important step in widening the horizon of the senior squad and should also serve as a big motivator over the coming weeks.
The weekend will not just be about the racing, it is an opportunity for the four travelling athletes to work on their management of themselves during a race weekend in a completely unusual environment.
I am very much looking forward to seeing how we perform and how the crew find the whole experience.
