Novice men

Novice men on the water over the weekend- getting lots of work on in 6's. In preparation for the beginner racing next weekend the crew managed a couple of 500m pieces - full crew. Some very sensible observations made by crew members, demonstrating a good awareness of the best way to move a boat already.
Seems to be plenty of excitement about going racing within this group and the ladies. Very happy to be taking beginners to race a short race side by side rather than a long race against the clock- the latter being an ideal way to turn beginners and their supporters off the sport before they have had a chance to get properly involved with it.
Looking forward myself to seeing how next weekend goes, and how the group (men and women) then take on the challenges of 2013. It's starting to feel like a real club too as the Seniors are racing at Muckross head the same day, there'll be 33 club members racing in total. Not massive numbers but another small step.
