Busy weekend

19 of this season's beginners have done their first ever races. Four side-by-side 400m sprints for each crew at Island Bridge, Dublin against Trinity and a DIT crew. The day was a great success with the ladies winning two and losing two while the boys went one better and lost just the one race. Without a doubt a huge amount was learnt and it even looked like people were having fun. Daniel and the girls seemed to particularly enjoy tipping in a sculler...
Here are 2 pictures off the water and one video on it:

Joe and Jonny love it when a plan comes together
Stop before the weir and don't break my boats..
While the beginners were clattering about in Dublin the seniors raced at the NRC at Muckross Head. Most of the squad raced twice over the 3400m course and there were some good results across the squad with wins in Senior 1x: Padraic, Inter 1x: Ronan, Inter 2x: Seán and David and the Inter 4+: Padriac, John, Ian, Kevin and Emma. Mark and Roisin came a close second in novice and women's Inter singles respectively. The beginners had today off- I must be going soft- while the seniors had a 16k paddle and technical work session to complete the last weekend of the term. There will of course be training during the vacation. The water today was excellent, particularly below the bridge, I managed to take some photos:
