50 Shades of Grey

Some days in Ireland the colours are amazing, a lush landscape of natural hues. On other days you are introduced to the complexity of the shades created when black and white are brought together.
Sky: Numerous greys.
Water: Grey
Landscape: Definitely looking grey
Between the sky and the water was more water, beginning as drizzle and fluctuating to a heavier format. Never becoming hard rain, always a grey layer between the sky definite and the resident water.
Strokeman consumed by some kind of supernatural/alien being
The lake itself was flat calm providing a perfect environment for another battle paddle of 21k. All the precipitation means that the longer landing stage is at last accessible, this will reduce boating time in future which is much needed if we are to get through both sessions successfully on each weekend day. Of course it helps if the athletes turn up on time and once on site don't sit in the changing room looking at each other...
The Gopro is good in this weather as it has a completely waterproof casing, however as can be seen the lens can get compromised.
Derek and Clive the launch ballast- and 2 slightly damp scullers
Despite a still somewhat sluggish start (off the water as much as on) there were a number of very positive things about today. Amongst the seniors technical improvement is evident in many places. The novice women were sensibly dressed and managed a full session with no need to come in because some fool turned up in a T-shirt and GAA shorts and by the time the novice men turned up it had stopped raining- much to John's satisfaction.
Another weekend on the water, another 55k or so for the seniors and the mileage is growing in the novice group too.
