Get back on the horse

Burpee joy
5:30pm, the first beginner circuit session of the season. 5:35pm the width of the hall is shoulder to shoulder with new recruits. It resembles a disco for 13 year olds, the girls on the left talking away, the boys down the other end, silent.
Warm-up is followed by an introduction to the exercises, Johnny demonstrates 15 exercises very well. Time to get on with it. 50 seconds on, 10 seconds to change to the next exercise. Initial enthusiam for jumping is rapidly met by the cardiovascular's natural response to exertion. This is the first week, stopping is common place but to improve you must get back on the horse. Faces express shock at the decisions brain and bodies have made.
Week 1 circuits, duration 20 minutes.  Many will return, for those that keep getting back on the horse the difficult 20 minutes will build to become 60 minutes of doing it. It will never get easy but it will become something you can do that others can't. For others include your former self.
