At this time of year it is particularly easy to pick up sickness, eg: 'Freshers' flu. Here are a few tips to help reduce the likelyhood:
1. Wash your hands regularly, especially after training; on the water and in the gym
2. Keep your kit clean
3. Regularly clean and replace your water bottle
4. Do not share water bottles
5. Do not pick up a water bottle that has been left in the boathouse or bin (!) if you have forgotten yours
6. Do not linger in enclosed communal areas
7. Do not linger in the gym, during and after training your immune system is at a low, reduce it's exposure by going home
8. Sit at the back of lecture theatres rather than at the front being breathed and coughed on
9. Keep well hydrated
10. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and veg
11. Get plenty of sleep
